Creating Text Boxes Tutorial - Step Two

Once you've released the left mouse-button, the shape is surrounded by 8 square blue Selection Handles to indicate that you've finished drawing it.

Press the ESC key, the F2 key, or left-click the Selection Tool Button on the left toolbar with the mouse to switch to the Selection Tool. The Selection Tool Button will become depressed.

Next, left-click the Autoshape you've just drawn with the Selection Tool to select it. To convert the Autoshape to a Text Box press the F9 key, or left-click the Convert to Text Box Button on the toolbar across the top.
