Applying Multicolor Gradients Tutorial - Step One

Draw an Autoshape by clicking one of the buttons on the Autoshape Toolbar at the bottom of the interface, and then left-clicking on the page and dragging the mouse while holding down the left mouse-button. Release the left mouse-button to finish drawing the autoshape.

Press the ESC or F2 keys, or click the Selection Tool Button on the toolbar to the left to switch to the Selection Tool. The Selection Tool Button will become depressed.

Left-click on the autoshape to select it, and 8 blue square selection handles appear around it.
